Your Favorite Photos, Made Even Better With Emojis

In case you hadn’t noticed, emojis are kind of, sort of a thing now. Still not convinced? Let this soak in for a second: The 2015 Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year wasn’t even a word. It was: ?.

Emojis are everywhere – from text conversations to Instagram comment threads to Hillary Clinton tweets. Over a one-month period, Curalate found that individual emojis on Instagram have been hashtagged more than 6.4MM times.

Consumers aren’t just using emojis to connect with one another, either. They’re using them to engage with brands and organizations as well. People are now even using emojis to order hotel room service. To call in pizza. Even to announce the launch of a new model of car.

In keeping with the prevalence of emojis, the Curalate team created the Emojini 3000 – an emoji granting genie that guesses which emojis best match any given photo. (You can read about the technology behind it here!)

The Emojini 3000 is a fun and intriguing tool, but it’s also really useful. If you’re struggling to find the perfect emoji to include in your Instagram caption or in a reply to an awkward photo in a group text, we’ve got you covered.

As a head start, we plugged photos of recent pop culture highlights into the Emojini 3000. Here’s what the Emojini 3000 had to “say.”

1. Kim K’s Cry Face

Even though Kim K. is doing an ugly cry on camera because she’s not in love with Kris Humphries, the Emojini knows that she’s still a gorgeous showstopper.

2. Cronut

You haven’t lived if you haven’t waited in a two-hour line for a cronut. This half-croissant, half-donut treat created by Dominique Ansel has made waves in recent years. The dessert, lemon and honey pot emojis are right on target.

3. Budweiser’s Lost Puppy

Everyone shed a tear or two when Budweiser’s “Lost Dog” commercial debuted during the 2015 Super Bowl. I, for one, will forever have the image of this adorable lost puppy ingrained in my brain. The Emojini shared these doggie emojis that without a doubt take the awwww factor up a notch.

4. “Hotline Bling”

My life changed for the better the moment I saw Drake awkwardly dancing in the video for “Hotline Bling.” The Emojini granted the perfect emojis for how this dance move makes everyone feel inside.

5. Frank Underwood Taking Over the U.S.

Frank Underwood is on a political mission, and there is no stopping him. Whether you love him or hate him, there’s no denying that he looks dapper and that he is a champion of sorts.

6. Adele Being Absolutely Perfect

There are no words for how flawless Adele is. I’ll let the emojis do the talking.

7. Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris Sailing the High Seas

This photo of T. Swift and Calvin Harris having fun in the sun is all you need to make you miss summer more than you already do. The surfer, swimmer and rubber duckies are super relevant.

8. The Mother of Dragons

Despite who you’re rooting for to take the throne, you’ve got to admit Daenerys Targaryen is pretty bad-ass. A bride + two reptiles are spot-on descriptors for the Mother of Dragons. #teamkhaleesi

9. Pizza Rat

2015 shall forever be the year we discovered how much NYC rats love pizza. I couldn’t have said it any better than these three emojis do.

10. Queen Bey and Jay

Beyoncé and Jay Z are amazing as individuals, so it make sense that they’d be unstoppable together. Not only do they create catchy music, but they straight-up look like hot fire.
